Gastric & duodenal ulcer; reflux esophagitis (erosive esophagitis). Maintenance treatment of reflux esophagitis (erosive esophagitis). Prevention of gastric or duodenal ulcer recurrence during NSAIDs administration. Adjunct to H pylori eradication associated w/ gastric & duodenal ulcer, gastric MALT lymphoma, ITP, stomach after endoscopic resection of early stage cancer or H pylori gastritis.
AdultGastric ulcer 20 mg once daily up to 8 wk. Duodenal ulcer 20 mg once daily up to 6 wk. Reflux esophagitis (erosive esophagitis) 20 mg once daily up to 4 wk, may be continued up to 8 wk if insufficient. Maintenance of reflux esophagitis healing 10 mg once daily, may be increased to 20 mg once daily if inadequate. Prevention of gastric & duodenal ulcer recurrence during NSAIDs administration 10 mg once daily. Adjunct to H pylori eradication 20 mg bd for 7 days w/ combination of 2 antibiotics following local label recommendations.
Discontinue use in patients w/ evidence of hepatic function abnormalities, or if signs or symptoms suggestive of hepatic dysfunction develops. Does not preclude gastric malignancy. Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea including pseudomembranous colitis. Bone fracture. Concomitant use of drugs w/ acidic intragastric pH-dependent absorption. Renal & hepatic impairment. Not to be used during pregnancy. Avoid use during lactation. Childn <18 yr. Elderly.
