LIVALO is contraindicated: in patients with known hypersensitivity to pitavastatin or to any of the excipients or other statins; in patients with severe hepatic impairment, active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevations in serum transaminases (exceeding 3 times the upper limit of normal [ULN]); in patients with myopathy; in patients receiving concomitant ciclosporin; during pregnancy, while breast feeding and in women of child bearing potential not taking appropriate contraceptive precautions.
