Indications/Uses
Surface anaesth as before inj in dental practice & impressions, X-ray photography, calculus removal; before maxillary sinus puncture & surgical procedures in nasal cavity, pharynx & epipharynx paracentesis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Dental practice 1-5 applications to oral mucous membranes. Maxillary sinus puncture & other otorhinolaryngology procedures 3 applications.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Not to be used on open wounds or infected areas (local sepsis).
Special Precautions
Not to be used by patients w/ allergy to local anaesth; w/ epilepsy; heart problems. Not to be applied for prolonged periods or over large areas of mucous membranes, or sprayed near or into eyes. Hepatic or renal problems. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Allergic reactions or drowsiness.
Drug Interactions
Additive & synergistic toxic effect w/ class I antiarrhythmics eg, tocainide, mexiletine. Concomitant use w/ other local anaesth agents.
