Why do I need this medicine?
Emedastine is used to treat redness and irritation of the eyes in allergic conjunctivitis.
How do I use this medicine?
Use Emedastine Eye Drops exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed by your doctor.

How to use eye drop solution:

1. Wash your hands with soap and water before using the eye drop.
2. Shake the bottle well before using.
3.Tilt your head slightly backwards and with the index finger, pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to form a pouch and with the index finger, pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to form a pouch and look upwards.
4. Instill the required number of drops inside the lower eyelid. Blink your eyes a few times to spread the solution over your eyes. Repeat for the other eye if required.
5. Close your eyes and wipe the excess solution with a clean tissue.
6. Replace and tighten the cap of the bottle.

Do not touch/wipe/ rinse the dropper tip, and do not let the dropper tip touch the eye, eyelids or other surfaces.

If you have been given another eye drop to be used together with Emedastine Eye Drop, wait for at least 10 minutes before applying the second eye drop.

Do not use the eye drop for a longer period of time than advised by your doctor.

Do not share your eye drop with anyone else.
What should I do if I have forgotten to use this medicine?
Use the eye drop as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.

DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.
What should I take note of while using this medicine?
Do not use Emedastine Eye Drops if you are wearing soft contact lenses, as the preservative contained in it may affect the contact lenses. Remove your contact lenses prior to using the eye drops and wait for 15 minutes before wearing it again. Do not wear your contact lenses if your eyes are red.

Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you are using Emedastine Eye Drops for 10 days or more, you may need to have your eye check up regularly. Your doctor will advise you if you need this monitoring and about how often you need to have it done.
What side effects could I experience?
Emedastine Eye Drops may cause blurring of vision when applied. If affected, do not drive or take part in any activity in which you need clear vision.

Other side effects include any of the following: headache, abnormal dreams, weakness, burning or stinging feeling in your eyes, unpleasant taste and blocked nose.

Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience any other side effects.



Can I use this with other medicines?
Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking or using any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicine, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
What special dietary instructions should I follow?
Avoid alcohol
How should I store this medicine?
Store the bottle in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.

Do not store in a freezer.

Do not use Emedastine Eye Drop after the expiry date. Do not use for longer than 4 weeks after the seal on the bottle has been broken.
