Pharmacology: Cuplaton changes the surface tension of the gastric and intestinal contents, destroying gas bubbles and foaming mucus and enabling gases to coalesce in quantities sufficient to be expelled in the natural way. Cuplaton is nontoxic and is not absorbed by the gastro-intestinal tract, but passes through unchanged. It is excreted as such in faeces.
