The use of COMBIVIR is contra-indicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to lamivudine, zidovudine or to any ingredient of the preparation.
Zidovudine is contra-indicated in patients with abnormally low neutrophil counts (less than 0.75 x 109/l), or abnormally low haemoglobin levels (less than 7.5 g/dl or 4.65 mmol/l). COMBIVIR is therefore contra-indicated in these patients (see Precautions).
