Indications/Uses
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 10-20 mL every 4-6 hr. Childn 6-12 yr 5-10 mL every 4-6 hr, 1-5 yr 2.4-5 mL every 4-6 hr, 3 mth-1 yr 1.2-2.4 mL every 4-6 hr. Max: Up to 4 doses daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if severe skin reactions occur. Not to be taken w/ other paracetamol-containing drugs. Patients w/ alcohol dependence. Renal & hepatic impairment. Late pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Haematological reactions eg, thrombocytopenia, leucopenia, pancytopenia, neutropenia, agranulocytosis; cutaneous hypersensitivity reactions eg, skin rashes, angioedema, SJS/TEN.
Drug Interactions
Increased risk of toxicity w/ hepatotoxic drugs or liver microsomal enzymes inducer. Accelerated absorption by metoclopramide. Affected excretion & altered plasma conc w/ probenecid. Reduced absorption by cholestyramine.
