Why do I need this medicine?
Adapalene is used to treat acne (also known as pimples).
How do I use this medicine?
Apply Adapalene exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not it use more often or over a larger area than instructed by your doctor.

This medicine is available as cream, gel or lotion.

To use the cream, gel, or lotion, follow these steps:
  1. Wash your hands.
  2. Using a mild cleanser, gently wash then dry the affected area before application.
  3. Apply a thin layer of Adapalene on the affected area of the skin. Rub gently until it disappears. Do not cover, wrap or bandage the area unless instructed by the doctor.
  4. Wash your hands after using.
  5. Replace the cap of the tube or bottle.
Avoid any contact with your eyes, lips, and mouth, or accumulation in angles of the nose. If accidental contact or accumulation occurs, immediately rinse the area with clean water. Alert your doctor if you start to have any problems with your eyes.

The dose of this medicine will be decided by your doctor. Your doctor will advise you on the treatment timeframe depending on the severity of your condition.
What should I do if I have forgotten to use this medicine?
Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.

DO NOT apply more than what is instructed by the doctor to make up for a missed dose.
When should I not use this medicine?
Do not use Adapalene if you ever had an allergic reaction (e.g. rashes, breathlessness, swollen eyes) to this medicine or any of its ingredients.

Do not use Adapalene if you are pregnant or planning to have a baby soon. If you become pregnant while using this medicine, alert your doctor immediately. Adapalene may cause harm to your unborn child.
What should I take note of while using this medicine?
Let your doctor know if you are breastfeeding.

Be sure to check with your doctor or pharmacist before giving this medicine to a child. Children may be more sensitive to the side effects.

Do not apply on broken (e.g. cuts, abrasions), sunburned, inflamed or irritated skin.

Avoid waxing as a method to remove hair on the treated skin.
What side effects could I experience?
Adapalene may cause any of the following side effects: burning or stinging sensation, scaling, itching, drying, and reddening of the skin.

This medicine may also make your skin more sensitive to sunlight and weather extremes of wind or cold. Use protective clothing and apply sunscreen when going outdoors. Avoid direct or prolonged exposure to sunlight, sunlamps or UV lamps.

If you develop rashes, breathlessness, swollen mouth, lips or eyes, stop using Adapalene and inform your doctor immediately. These could be signs of an allergic reaction.

Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Can I use this with other medicines?
Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are using any other products on the affected area such as medicated soaps, astringents or cosmetics.

Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking or using any other medicines, including herbal tonics, such as traditional Chinese medicine, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
How should I store this medicine?
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.

Protect from light and heat. Do not refrigerate or freeze.

Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
