Sulbactam 500 mg, cefoperazone 500 mg
Indications/Uses
Upper & lower resp tract infections, UTI, peritonitis, cholecystitis, cholangitis & other intra-abdominal infections, skin & soft tissue infections.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 2-4 g Sulperazon daily in 2 divided doses 12 hrly, may be increased up to 8 g daily in severe or refractory infections. Childn 40-80 mg/kg daily in divided doses 6-12 hrly. Dose may be increased up to 160 mg/kg daily in severe or refractory infections.
Contraindications
Known allergy to penicillins, sulbactam, cefoperazone or cephalosporins.
Special Precautions
Hepatic dysfunction & concomitant renal impairment; ingestion of alcoholic beverages; overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms. Serious & occasionally fatal hypersensitivity (anaphylactic) reactions. Pregnancy & lactation. Premature infant or neonates.
Adverse Reactions
Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting; maculopapular rash, urticaria.
