Patient w/ short-acting opioid dependence Day 1: Suboxone 8 mg/2 mg tab as a single dose. Day 2: Suboxone 16 mg/4 mg as a single dose. Maintenance treatment: Target dose: Suboxone 16 mg/4 mg as a single daily dose.
Monitor for any sign of diversion or development of opioid dependence & additive behavior opioid dependence. Resp depression & life-threatening condition which is related to buprenorphine use. Discontinue if adrenal insufficiency is diagnosed. Moderate or severe liver impairment. Liver function test should be monitored before & during therapy. Lactation. Neonatal opioid w/drawal syndrome (NOWS) due to prolonged opioid use during pregnancy. Buprenorphine may cause severe resp depression & fatal in childn. Monitoring of sedation & resp depression in elderly.
