Oxomemazine, guaifenesin.
Description
Each 5 mL contains: Oxomemazine Hydrochloride equivalent to Oxomemazine 1.65 mg, Guaifenesin 33.3 mg.
Action
Pharmacology: Oxomemazine is an antihistamine which works competitively to inhibit histamine.
Guaifenesin works to help remove secret excretion by melting the bronchial secretions.
Indications/Uses
SANAZOL is for relieving of productive cough due to allergic reactions.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adults and children more than 40 kg (> 12 years): 10 mL, 4 times daily.
Children by weight (1 mL syrup per kg bb/day) are: 0 - 20 kg (age 2 - 6 years): 5 mL, 2 - 3 times daily.
20 - 30 kg (age 6 - 10 years): 10 mL, 2 - 3 times daily.
30 - 40 kg (age 10 - 12 years): 10 mL, 3 - 4 times daily.
Contraindications
Do not use in patients who are allergic to this drug.
Special Precautions
During this medication, avoid drinking alcohol and should not be allowed to drive or run heavy machinery.
A long term treatment for patients with renal function impairment should be with the supervision of a doctor.
Do not exceed the recommended dose, it can cause liver function damage.
Use in Children: Not for children under 2 years old.
Adverse Reactions
Drowsiness, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
These side effects will decrease after several days of treatment.
