View Proferro overdosage for action to be taken in the event of an overdose.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Excessive Fe levels in the blood eg, hemochromatosis, hemosiderosis. Fe utilization disorders eg, lead anemia, sideroachrestic anemia, thalassemia. Anemia not caused by Fe deficiency eg, hemolytic anemia.
If anemia is caused by infection or the presence of abnormalities, substituted Fe will be stored in the reticuloendothelial system & will only be mobilized & utilized after the major disease healed.
