Zn sulphate monohydrate

Indications/Uses

Complementary therapy of diarrhea in childn in combination w/ oral rehydration salts.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Childn 6 mth-5 yr 5 mL once daily, <6 mth 2.5 mL once daily.

Overdosage

Administration

Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take at least 1 hr before or 2 hr after meals. May be taken w/ meals to reduce GI discomfort.

Special Precautions

Zn accumulation may cause renal failure.

Use In Pregnancy & Lactation

Adverse Reactions

Nausea, bitter taste, vomiting & mouth irritation.

Drug Interactions

Zn may inhibit tetracycline, quinolone, penicillamine, trientine absorption. Ca & Fe may inhibit Zn absorption.
