Adverse reactions may occur, especially during high dose therapy and after prolonged treatment: fluid and electrolyte disturbance, muscle weakness, decrease of immune response, impaired wound healing hypertension, cataract, suppression of growth in children, adrenal insufficiency, Cushing Syndrome, osteoporosis, gastric ulcer, Sodium retention and fluid retention, congestive heart failure in susceptible patients, Potassium loss, hypokalemic alkalosis, musculoskeletal and muscle weakness, steroid myopathy, aseptic necrosis, vertebral compression fractures, pathologic fractures, pancreatitis, perforation of the bowel, and moon face.
