Cetirizine diHCl
Indications/Uses
Perennial & seasonal allergic rhinitis. Chronic idiopathic urticaria.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Cap Adult & childn >12 yr 1 cap once daily. Caplet Adult & childn >12 yr 1 caplet once daily. Syr Adult & childn >6 yr 1-2 tsp once daily; childn 2-6 yr 1 tsp once daily. Drops Adult & childn >12 yr 1mL once daily. Childn 6-12 yr 1 mL once daily or 0.5 mL 2 times daily (morning & night); 2-6 yr 0.5 mL once daily or 0.25 mL 2 times daily (morning & night).
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Severe kidney disease. Pregnancy & lactation. Infant & childn <2 yr.
Special Precautions
Kidney dysfunction. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Childn <12 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, dizziness, drowsiness, agitation, dry mouth, gastric discomfort. Hypersensitivity reactions eg, skin reactions & angioedema.
Drug Interactions
Potentiation of effects w/ alcohol.
