Indications/Uses
Dosage/Direction for Use
Initially 15 mg/kg/day may be increased by 5-10 mg/kg/day at wkly interval. Max: 60 mg/kg/day. Dose >250 mg/day should be given in divided doses.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Impaired liver function. Pregnancy.
Special Precautions
Do not drive a motor-car or operate heavy machinery. Lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramp, constipation, heartburn; sedation, tremor, headache, sleepiness, dizziness; alopecia; thrombocytopenia, hyperammonemia, depression, psychosis.
Drug Interactions
Decreased conc w/ antiepileptics eg, carbamazepine, phenobarb & phenytoin.
