Contents
Per mL Tropicamide 5 mg, phenylephrine HCl 5 mg
Indications/Uses
Mydriasis & cycloplegia for the purpose of diagnosis or treatment.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Mydriasis Instill 1-2 drops once or 1 drop twice every 3-5 min. Cycloplegia Instill 1 drop 2-3 times every 3-5 min.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients w/ glaucoma or those predisposed to ocular HTN as evidenced by a narrow angle or shallow anterior chamber.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ HTN, arteriosclerosis, heart diseases (including CAD or heart failure), diabetes, &/or hyperthyroidism. Bradycardia &/or apnea may occur when administered to premature infants for funduscopy. Avoid potentially hazardous activities requiring clear vision. Protect eyes from direct sunlight or other powerful light. Childn. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Blepharitis, eyelid dermatitis, itching, rash, urticarias; conjunctivitis, corneal epithelium disorder, increased IOP; thirst, nausea, vomiting; facial flushing, tachycardia, HTN, headache.
Drug Interactions
Rapid increase in BP w/ MAOIs (during & w/in 3 wk after treatment) & TCAs/tetracyclic antidepressants eg, maprotiline HCl, clomipramine HCl, amoxapine.
