Hydrocortisone
Indications/Uses
Suppression of skin disease in which inflammation is a prominent feature eg, eczema, infantile eczema, atopic dermatitis, dermatitis herpetiformis, contact dermatitis, neurodermatitis, psoriasis & intertrigo.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply thinly to the affected area 1-4 times daily, depending on the seriousness of the condition. Occlusive dressings may be used for the management of psoriasis or recalcitrant conditions.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to hydrocortisone, other corticosteroid or component in the base.
Special Precautions
Not suitable for ophth use; avoid application to eyes. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Burning sensation, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneiform eruptions, hypopigmentation, maceration of the skin, secondary infection, skin atrophy, striae & miliria.
