Indications/Uses
Peripheral vascular disease, including intermittent claudication & rest pain.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Initially 1 tab tds. Maintenance dose: 2 tab daily. Renal impairment (CrCl <30 mL/min) Reduce dose by approx 30-50% guided by individual tolerance.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to pentoxifylline & other methylxanthines. Patients w/ cerebral & extensive retinal hemorrhage, acute MI, & severe cardiac arrhythmias.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ hypotension or severe CAD, impaired renal function (CrCl <30 mL/min), severe liver function impairment.
Adverse Reactions
GI side effects (eg, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea), headache, dizziness, agitation, sleep disturbances.
Drug Interactions
Antihypertensives, ketorolac, theophylline.
