Dosage/Direction for Use
Tab Benign peptic ulcer 150 mg in the morning & at bedtime for 4 wk or 300 mg at bedtime. Maintenance: 150 mg at bedtime. Reflux oesophagitis 150 mg bid for ≤8 wk. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome Initially 150 mg tid & may increase, as required to 6 g/day. Inj 50 mg slow IV 6-8 hrly. IV infusion 2.5-3.5 mg/min for 15-20 min every 6-8 hr.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Special Precautions
Gastric malignancy; impaired renal function; prolonged maintenance therapy.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, dizziness; GI disturbances; skin rashes.
Drug Interactions
Sucralfate.
