X-Tin Indications/Uses

For prevention of cardiovascular disease in patient with multiple risk factors for coronary heart disease.
In adult patients without clinical evidence of coronary heart disease, but with multiple risk factors for coronary heart disease such as age, smoking, hypertension, diabetes, low high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) or a family history of early coronary heart disease. X-TIN is indicated to reduce the risk of revascularization procedures and angina, myocardial infarction (MI) and stroke.
In patients with clinical evidence of coronary heart disease (CHD), X-TIN is indicated to reduce the risk of non-fatal MI, fatal and non-fatal stroke, hospitalization for congestive heart failure (CHF), revascularization procedures and angina.
As an adjunct to diet for treatment of hyperlipidemia in patients who do not respond adequately to dietary treatment.
In adult to decrease elevated total cholesterol (total-C), LDL, apolipoprotein (apo B), triglyceride (TG) levels and to increase HDL in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia.
For treatment of patients with elevated serum TG levels.
For treatment of patients with primary dysbetalipoproteinemia who do not respond adequately to diet.
To decrease elevated total-C and LDL-C in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia as an adjunct to other lipid-lowering therapies (plasma LDL-apheresis).
