Indications/Uses
Inhalation agent for induction & maintenance of anaesth in adult & maintenance of anaesth in infant & childn.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Individualized dosage.
Contraindications
Patient in whom general anaesth is contraindication. Known or genetic susceptibility to malignant hyperthermia. In whom liver dysfunction, jaundice or unexplained fever, leucocytosis or eosinophilia has occurred after previous halogenated anesth administration.
Special Precautions
Not to be used as the sole agent for anaesth induction in patient at risk of CAD or in patient where increases in heart rate or BP are undesirable. Hypovolaemic, hypotensive & debilitated patient (use lower conc). Pregnancy. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Use in neurosurgery & obstet operation.
Adverse Reactions
Dose-dependent hypotension & resp depression. Cough, breath holding, salivation, apnoea & laryngospasm. Post-op nausea & vomiting. Transient increase of WBC count, malignant hyperthermia.
