Contents
Per 1 g vial Sulbactam Na (equiv to sulbactam 500 mg), cefoperazone Na (equiv to cefoperazone 500 mg). Per 1.5 g vial Sulbactam Na (equiv to sulbactam 500 mg), cefoperazone Na (equiv to cefoperazone 1,000 mg)
Indications/Uses
URTI & lower resp tract, GUT, skin & soft tissue, bone & joint infections, UTI, peritonitis & other intra-abdominal infections, septicemia, meningitis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Vial 1 g Adult 2-4 g/day divided 12 hrly. Severe infection 8 g/day divided 12 hrly. Childn 40-80 mg/kg/day divided 6-12 hrly. Severe infection 160 mg/kg/day divided 6-12 hrly. Vial 1.5 g Adult 1.5-3 g/day divided 12 hrly. Severe infection 12 g/day divided 12 hrly. Childn 30-60 mg/kg/day divided 6-12 hrly. Severe infection 240 mg/kg/day divided 6-12 hrly.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to penicillins & cephalosporins or sulbactam.
Special Precautions
Hepatic disease, biliary obstruction, pregnancy, lactation & ingestion of alcohol. Monitor prothrombin time.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, hypersensitivity, reversible neutropenia, hypoprothrombinemia, leukopenia, hypotension & SJS (occasional).
Drug Interactions
Ingestion of alcohol.
