Dosage/Direction for Use
Acute, uncomplicated UTI 400 mg bid for 3 days. Recurrent/complicated UTI 400 mg bid for 10-21 days. Gonorrhea, chancroid UTI 500 mg as a single dose. GI infection 400 mg bid.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Do not take w/ dairy products.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to quinolones. Severe renal insufficiency.
Special Precautions
Pregnancy & lactation. Pre-pubertal childn.
Adverse Reactions
GIT disorders eg, nausea, vomiting. Dizziness, headache, fatigue, insomnia, dry mouth, rash.
Drug Interactions
Probenecid. Antacid may impair absorption. May increase theophylline plasma levels.
