Ofloxin is a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent that shows activities against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria eg, Staphylococcus sp, Streptococcus pyogenes, hemolytic Streptococci, Enterococci, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, E. coli, Citrobacter and Shigella spp, Kiebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter, Serratia and Proteus spp, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Haemophilus influenzae, Acinetobacter and Campylobacter spp.
Ofloxin is transferred rapidly to each tissue in high concentrations without being accumulated there, and is mostly excreted through the urine in unchanged form.
