Enalapril maleate
Indications/Uses
HTN, CHF.
Dosage/Direction for Use
10-40 mg daily. HTN Mild: Initially 10 mg daily. Moderate or severe: 20 mg daily. Concomitant diuretic therapy in HTN Discontinue diuretic 2-3 days prior to initiation of therapy w/ Nalopril. CHF Initially <5 mg. Usual maintenance dose: 10-20 mg daily in a single or divided dose.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Special Precautions
Symptomatic hypotension may occur. In patients w/ renal impairment or renal artery stenosis, low doses may be required. Pregnancy. Lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Dizziness, headache, fatigue, asthenia, hypotension, orthostatic hypotension, syncope, nausea, diarrhea, muscle cramps, rash, cough.
Drug Interactions
Concomitant administration w/ K-sparing diuretics may cause hyperkalemia. Potentiates the effect of other antihypertensive drugs.
