Indications/Uses
Mucolytic agent in adjuvant treatment of abnormal, viscid or inspissated mucus secretion in acute & chronic bronchopulmonary disorder. Prevention or lessening hepatic injury caused by paracetamol overdosage.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Mucolytic effects Adult & childn >12 yr 1 tab daily. Paracetamol overdosage Initially 140 mg/kg. Maintenance: 70 mg/kg every 4 hr 17 doses.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Dissolve in ½ glass of water. Take after evening meal.
Special Precautions
Phenylketonuria, asthma. History of PUD. Pregnancy, lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Stomatitis; nausea, vomiting & other GI symptoms; fever, rhinorrhea, drowsiness, clamminess, chest tightness, bronchoconstriction, bronchospasm, tachycardia, angioedema, rashes, pruritus, hypotension.
