Cryptorchidism, hypogonadism, hypogonadotropic eunuchoidism 1,000 IU or 5,000 IU IM every other day. Sperm asthenia, azoospermia 5,000 IU w/ menotropin everyday for 90-120 days. Hypomenorrhea 1,000 IU everyday through the last wk of expected menstruation day. Hypermenorrhea 1,000 IU/day during the 2nd wk of menstrual cycle. Threatened abortion 5,000 IU immediately & repeated bid until the risk of abortion disappears & decrease to 1,000 IU twice a wk. Habitual abortion 5,000 IU every other day during 2nd-3rd mth of pregnancy & 1,000 IU continued for 2 mth. Primary & secondary amenorrhea or anovulatory cycle 2,000 IU/day for 2 days after menotropin.
Contraindications
Prostatic carcinoma or other androgen-dependent neoplasm, a prior allergic reaction to gonadotropins, precocious puberty.
Special Precautions
Prostatomegaly, epilepsy, migraine, asthma & cardiac or renal disease.
