Hyoscine-N-butylbromide
Indications/Uses
Relieves spasm of smooth muscle & visceral organs. Dysmenorrhea.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >6 yr 1-2 tab 3-5 times daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Myasthenia gravis, megacolon.
Special Precautions
Narrow-angle glaucoma, patients susceptible to intestinal, urinary outlet obstructions & in those inclined to tachyarrhythmia.
Adverse Reactions
Xerostomia, tachycardia, urinary retention, allergic & skin reactions. Rarely, dyspnea (in patients w/ history of bronchial asthma or allergy).
Drug Interactions
Anticholinergic effects intensified w/ TCAs, antihistamines, quinidine, amantadine & disopyramide. Tachycardiac effects of adrenergic agents enhanced. Dopamine antagonist.
