Indications/Uses
NIDDM.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Initially ½ to 1 tab as a single dose, then adjust by increments of ½ to 1 tab. Max: 40 mg daily. Total daily dose >15 mg should be given in 2 divided doses.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 30 min before meals.
Contraindications
IDDM, ketoacidosis, impaired kidney or liver function.
Special Precautions
Hypoglycemia. Pregnancy. Elderly, debilitated subjects.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances, allergic skin reaction, headache, alteration of hematopoietic system.
Drug Interactions
Hypoglycemic activity may be enhanced by dicoumarol, MAOIs, sulfonamides, phenylbutazone, chloramphenicol. May be reduced by adrenaline, corticosteroids.
