Ca carbonate (equiv to elemental Ca 500 mg) 1,250 mg, vit D3 200 IU
Indications/Uses
Prevention & treatment of Ca deficiency states eg, senile osteoporosis, bone fracture & rickets. As a Ca supplement to meet increased Ca & vit D needs during growth periods of childn, adolescents, during pregnancy, in menopausal patients & elderly.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 tab bid.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Hypercalcemia, hypervitaminosis D.
Special Precautions
Avoid use when hypercalcemia exists or where conditions favor kidney stones.
Adverse Reactions
Mild GI disturbances eg, constipation, abdominal pain & polyuria.
Drug Interactions
Ca reduces absorption of oral tetracyclines. Oxalic acid, phytic acid, corticosteroids interfere w/ Ca absorption.
