Etoricoxib
Indications/Uses
Acute & chronic treatment of OA & RA. Ankylosing spondylitis, acute gouty arthritis & primary dysmenorrhea. Relief of chronic musculoskeletal pain including chronic low back pain & acute pain associated w/ dental surgery.
Dosage/Direction for Use
OA 30 or 60 mg once daily. RA 90 mg once daily. Acute gouty arthritis 120 mg once daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Active peptic ulceration or GI bleeding. Severe hepatic dysfunction. CrCl <30 mL/min. CHF (NYHA II-IV), uncontrolled HTN. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <16 yr.
Special Precautions
Increased risk for thrombotic event, GI ulceration or other GI complications. Patients w/ risk factors for CV events eg, HTN, hyperlipidemia, DM, smoking.
Adverse Reactions
Fatigue, dizziness, fluid retention, flu-like disease, HTN, abdominal pain, flatulence, diarrhea, dyspepsia, heartburn, epigastric discomfort, headache, nausea, increased ALT & AST. 
Drug Interactions
Increased prothrombin time INR w/ warfarin. Decreased AUC w/ rifampin. Increase AUC of MTX. May diminish antihypertensive effect of diuretics, ACE inhibitors.
