Gadoteric acid 27.932 g corresponding to DOTA 20.246 g, gadolinium oxide 9.062 g, meglumine 9.76 g
Indications/Uses
Radiological contrast agent used in MRI exam for cerebral & spinal disease, diseases of the vertebral column & other whole body pathologies (including angiography).
Dosage/Direction for Use
IV Adult, childn & infant 0.2 mL/kg. In angiography, 2nd inj may be administered during the same session if necessary. Confirmation of isolated metastasis or detection of leptomeningeal tumour 2nd inj of 0.4 mL/kg can be administered. Max single dose: 0.6 mL/kg. Childn <2 yr Max single dose: 0.2 mL/kg.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to gadolinium salts. Patients w/ pacemaker & vascular clip.
Special Precautions
Do not administer via subarachnoid (or epidural) inj. History of allergy eg, hay fever, urticaria, asthma &/or prior reaction to contrast agent. Patients on β-blockers & w/ bronchial asthma. Severe renal insufficiency. Patients w/ low seizure threshold. Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Inj site reactions (eg, pain, coldness), nausea, headache, somnolence, laryngeal discomfort, paresthesia & vomiting.
