Doxazosin mesylate
Indications/Uses
Mild to moderate HTN. Benign prostatic hyperplasia w/ or w/o HTN.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Mild to moderate HTN Initially 1 mg once daily. May be increased to 2 mg after 1-2 wk. Thereafter titrate upwards, if necessary, balancing therapeutic benefit. Max: 16 mg/day. Benign prostatic hyperplasia w/ or w/o HTN Initially 1 mg once daily. May be increased to 2, 4 or max of 8 mg once daily at intervals of 1-2 wk. Both indications 2-4 mg once daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Special Precautions
Hypersensitivity to quinasolin. Impaired liver function. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Postural hypotension, dizziness, headache, fatigue, vertigo, oedema, asthenia, somnolence, nausea & rhinitis. Rarely, urinary incontinence, priapism.
