Dexamethasone Na phosphate
Indications/Uses
Anti-inflammatory, antirheumatic, antiallergic, other conditions responsive to corticosteroid therapy.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1-5 mL IM or IV. Max: 12.5 mL daily.
Contraindications
Peptic ulcer; osteoporosis; acute infection; live vaccines. Lactation.
Special Precautions
CHF, HTN, DM, infectious disease, chronic renal failure, uremia. Pregnancy. Childn. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Fluid & electrolyte retention, increased susceptibility to infection; growth retardation; Cushingoid states; amenorrhea; hyperhidrosis, mental disturbances; intracranial HTN; acute pancreatitis; aseptic osteonecrosis.
Drug Interactions
Barbiturates, phenytoin, rifampicin.
