Amlodipine besylate
Indications/Uses
1st-line treatment of HTN & myocardial ischaemia whether due to fixed obstructions (stable angina) &/or vasospasm/vasoconstriction (Prinzmetal's or variant angina) of coronary vasculature.
Dosage/Direction for Use
HTN & angina Initially 5 mg once daily, may be increased to a max dose of 10 mg.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to amlodipine or dihydropyridines.
Special Precautions
CHF, impaired liver function.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, edema, fatigue, somnolence, nausea, abdominal pain, flushing, palpitations, dizziness.
