Cyproheptadine HCl
Indications/Uses
Anorexia, allergy, pruritus.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult ½ to 1 tab. Childn 2-6 yr ½ adult dose.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach.
Contraindications
Glaucoma; bladder or GI obstruction; prostatic hypertrophy, stenosing peptic ulcer, neonates.
Special Precautions
Asthma; hyperthyroidism, CV disease, HTN. Lactation. Young childn. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Drowsiness; skin reactions, dry mouth, blurred vision; CNS & GI effects, urinary retention, wt gain; palpitations. Rarely, blood dyscrasias.
Drug Interactions
Potentiates effects of alcohol, other CNS depressants. Anticholinergic effects potentiated by MAOI.
