Treatment of bronchospasm associated w/ bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 10 mL tid to qid. May be increased to 20 mL. Childn >12 yr 5-10 mL tid to qid, 6-12 yr 5 mL tid to qid, 2-6 yr 2.5-5 mL tid to qid. Elderly patients & w/ allergy to β-adrenergic drugs 5 mL tid to qid.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 1 hr before or 2 hr after meals.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Thyrotoxicosis; 1st trimester of pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Fine skeletal muscle tremor (particularly the hands), muscle cramps, palpitations, increase heart rate, headache, severe hypokalemia.
R03CC02 - salbutamol ; Belongs to the class of adrenergics for systemic use, selective beta-2-adrenoreceptor agonists. Used in the treatment of obstructive airway diseases.
