Patients w/ known sensitivity or allergy to fish. Not indicated in exogenous hypertriglyceridaemia (type 1 hyperchylomicronaemia). Limited experience in secondary endogenous hypertriglyceridaemia (especially uncontrolled diabetes). Not recommended as monotherapy in type IIb dyslipidaemia. Periodically monitor patients receiving anticoagulant or other drug affecting coagulation (eg, ASA, warfarin, coumarin). Routine monitoring of the entire lipid profile is recommended. Monitor LDL-C on a regular basis especially in patients w/ type IV & V dyslipidaemia. Regularly monitor hepatic function especially ALT & AST in patients w/ hepatic impairment in particular w/ higher dosage of 4 g/day. Renal impairment. Pregnancy. Not to be used during lactation. Not recommended for childn. Adolescent. Elderly ≥70 yr.
