Psoriasis, recalcitrant eczemas, lichen planus, discoid lupus erythematosus & other conditions which do not respond satisfactorily to less active steroids.
If patient presents symptoms eg, blurred vision or other visual disturbances, consider referral to an ophthalmologist for evaluation of possible causes which may include cataract, glaucoma or rare diseases (eg, central serous chorioretinopathy). Prolonged treatment may exhibit atrophic facial changes. Avoid contact w/ eyes. W/draw if there is any spread of infection. Pregnancy. Avoid long-term continuous therapy particularly in infants & childn due to the risk of adrenal suppression.
Blurred vision. Prolonged & intensive use: May cause atrophic changes eg, striae, skin thinning & dilatation of superficial blood vessels (particularly when occlusive dressings are used or where skin folds are involved).
