Indications/Uses
Pyoderma (impetigo, infective eczematic dermatitis, folliculitis, furuncle, suppurative hidradenitis, impetiginous eczema), burn, trauma. Acne vulgaris, suture wound, secondary infections after skin grafting.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn Clean affected area & apply directly to the wound for several times daily or cover the region w/ gauze dressing for 1 wk.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to fusidic acid or its salt. Infection due to non-susceptible organism (especially Pseudomonas aeruginosa).
Special Precautions
Possible sensitization; discontinue use if itching, rash, swelling, comedo or vesiculosa occur. Bacterial resistance may occur; do not apply for long periods or to broad region of skin; avoid use in closed settings (eg, hospitals). Do not use in the eye. Application to eye or eyelid is not recommended. Pregnancy & lactation. Premature infant & neonate.
Adverse Reactions
Occasionally, hypersensitivity reactions (eg, skin rashes, weak pain & irritation).
