Adult 200 mg single loading dose on day 1, followed by 100 mg daily thereafter. Continue therapy for at least 14 days after the last +ve culture or based on patient's clinical response. Max rate of infusion: 1.1 mg/min. Paed ≥1 mth Recommended dose: 3 mg/kg (max dose: 200 mg) loading dose day 1, followed by 1.5 mg/kg (max dose: 100 mg) daily dose thereafter. Continue therapy for at least 14 days after the last -ve culture & improvement of clinical signs & symptoms of invasive candidiasis including candidaemia. Max rate of infusion: 1.1 mg/min.
Discontinue use & administer appropriate treatment if anaphylactic reactions occur. Not to be administered as bolus inj. Patients w/ candida endocarditis, osteomyelitis or meningitis. Neutropenic patients. Monitor for evidence of worsening hepatic function & evaluate for risk/benefit of continuing therapy in patients who develop abnormal liver function tests during therapy. Possible exacerbation of infusion-related reactions by co-administration w/ anaesth agents. Patients w/ hereditary problems of fructose intolerance. Not recommended during pregnancy. Lactation. Not recommended for use in neonates <1 mth.
