Indications/Uses
Infertility due to inadequate luteal phase; for use during in vitro fertilisation (IVF).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Infertility due to inadequate luteal phase Apply once daily, starting after documented ovulation or arbitrarily on the 18th-21st day of the cycle. IVF Apply daily for 30 days if there is laboratory evidence of pregnancy.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity; undiagnosed vag bleeding; known or suspected breast or genital organ malignancy, acute porphyria; current or history of thrombophlebitis, thromboembolic disorders, cerebral apoplexy; missed abortion. Lactation.
Special Precautions
Immediately discontinue use if thrombophlebitis, cerebrovascular disorders, pulmonary embolism & retinal thrombosis occur. Consider non-function causes in cases of breakthrough bleeding. Carefully observe conditions that might be influenced by the potential fluid retention factor eg, epilepsy, migraine, asthma, cardiac or renal dysfunction; patients w/ history of psychic depression (discontinue if depression recurs to a serious degree); diabetic patients. Severe hepatic impairment.
Adverse Reactions
Breast tenderness, itching or burning.
Drug Interactions
Not recommended for concurrent use w/ vag prep.
