Betamethasone dipropionate
Indications/Uses
Relief of inflammatory manifestations of corticosteroids-responsive dermatoses.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply a thin film to the affected skin areas once or bd.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to betamethasone dipropionate or other corticosteroids.
Special Precautions
Discontinue use & institute appropriate treatment if irritation, sensitivity or other reaction develops. May produce systemic effects (eg, hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis suppression, Cushing's syndrome manifestation, hyperglycaemia & glucosuria. Do not use in or around the eyes. Blurred vision or other visual disturbances. Prolonged treatment when treating extensive BSA when using occlusive technique & when treating childn. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Burning sensation, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneiform eruptions, hypopigmentation, skin maceration, secondary infection, skin atrophy, striae, miliaria. Blurred vision.

Additional Information
Exemptions granted for limited sale and supply without prescription (with effect from 31 March 2016):
As a topical preparation (as valerate or dipropionate salt) as a single agent not exceeding 0.1%
Indication: Symptomatic relief of inflammatory skin or scalp disorders such as dermatitis and eczema
Maximum daily dose: Apply to affected areas twice daily
Maximum supply: 15 g for cream/ointment/gel; 30 mL for topical solution
Minimum age: 18 years
