Indications/Uses
Bladder outlet obstruction associated w/ benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take after breakfast & evening meal.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Orthostatic hypotension, hepatic & renal impairment; patients treated w/ phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors. Abnormal ejaculation (eg, retrograde ejaculation). Discontinue use or reduce dose if BP decreased. Intraoperative floppy iris syndrome may occur. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Syncope, unconsciousness; hepatic impairment, jaundice; abnormal ejaculation (eg, retrograde ejaculation), thirst, increased triglycerides.
Drug Interactions
Elevated plasma drug conc w/ potent CYP3A4 inhibitors (azole antifungal agents eg, itraconazole). May diminish ability to regulate BP on standing w/ hypotensive agents. Enhanced hypotension w/ phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors eg, sildenafil citrate, vardenafil HCl hydrate.
