Levofloxacin hemihydrate
Indications/Uses
Susceptible infections eg, UTI, infected bites & sting, bone & joints, lower resp tract & skin infections; brucellosis, gastroenteritis, diarrhea, meningitis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
250 or 500 mg once or bid for 7-14 days.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Ensure adequate fluid intake.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Patients w/ epilepsy or history of CNS disorders. Degenerative changes in wt-bearing joints of childn & adolescent. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances eg, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain & dyspepsia. Headache, dizziness & restlessness.
Drug Interactions
May interfere clearance of theophylline. Reduced absorption w/ Al, Mg & Fe.
