Trimetazidine HCl
Indications/Uses
Add-on therapy for the symptomatic treatment of adult patients w/ stable angina pectoris who are inadequately controlled by or intolerant to 1st-line anti-anginal therapies.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1 tab in the morning & evening. Patient w/ moderate renal impairment (CrCl 30-60 mL/min) 1 tab in the morning.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Parkinson disease, parkinsonian symptoms, tremors, restless leg syndrome, & other related movement disorders. Severe renal impairment (CrCl <30 mL/min).
Special Precautions
Not a curative treatment for angina attacks, nor indicated as an initial treatment for unstable angina or MI, nor in the pre-hospital phase or during the 1st days of hospitalization. May cause or worsen Parkinsonian symptoms (tremor, akinesia, hypertonia) especially in the elderly. W/draw treatment if movement disorders eg, Parkinsonian symptoms, restless leg syndrome, tremors, gait, & instability occurs. Falls related to gait instability or hypotension may occur. Moderate renal impairment. Avoid during pregnancy. Not recommended during lactation. Childn <18 yr. Elderly >75 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Dizziness, headache, GI disorders eg, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dyspepsia, nausea & vomiting, rashes, pruritus, urticaria, & asthenia.
