Tafluprost 15 mcg, timolol maleate 5 mg
Indications/Uses
Reduction of IOP in adult patients w/ open angle glaucoma or ocular HTN who are insufficiently responsive to topical monotherapy w/ β-blockers or prostaglandin analogues & require a combination therapy.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Instill 1 drop in the affected eye(s) once daily.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients w/ or history of bronchial asthma, severe chronic COPD; poor-controlled cardiac failure, sinus bradycardia, 2nd- or 3rd-degree AV block, cardiogenic shock. Combination w/ omidenepag isopropyl.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ right ventricular failure caused by pulmonary HTN, CHF, diabetic ketoacidosis or metabolic acidosis, poor-controlled diabetes, aphakia or pseudophakia, intraocular inflammation (iritis, uveitis). This may be absorbed systemically & cause adverse drug reactions similar to those caused by systemic administration of a β-blocker. Pigmentation in iris & eyelid or hypertrichosis around the eyes may occur. Corneal epithelium disorder (superficial punctate keratitis, filamentary keratitis or corneal erosion) may occur during treatment. Closed angle glaucoma. Concomitant use w/ β-blockers. Switch from a miotic may require refraction adjustment. Instill w/in 5 min interval if other ophth drug is used. Remove contact lenses prior to administration & re-insert after at least 15 min. Pregnancy & lactation, parturient women. Elderly. Childn, infants (low birth wt) & neonates.
Adverse Reactions
Eyelashes abnormality, conjunctival inj, corneal epithelium disorder including punctate keratitis, blepharal pigmentation, eye irritation. Iris pigmentation, ocular pemphigoid, bronchospasm, dyspnea, resp failure, heart block, CHF, cerebral ischemia, cardiac arrest, cerebrovascular disorder, SLE. Irritation, itching, blepharitis, keratoconjunctivitis sicca.
