Inert agar polysaccharide/carbohydrate, clotting factors (IIa, VIIa, IXa & Xa) derived from bovine plasma
Indications/Uses
Controlling hemorrhages for arterial & venous bleeding occurring in invasive & noninvasive procedures. Haemostatic agent in fully anticoagulant & factor deficient patients.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply drop wise to the surface of the bleeding site until bleeding stops. Deep wounds Apply 1st to the base of the wound, continually applying the agent as it draws up from the wound. Wait 60 sec to allow the clot to crosslink. May repeat if 2nd application is required. Remove by irrigation/suction or absorption onto a surgical sponge after hemostasis has occurred.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to bovine proteins.
Special Precautions
For single use only. Do not resterilize. Do not allow to enter into cell saver equipment, extracorporeal cardiopulmonary bypass circuits or autologous blood salvage circuits w/ other hemostatic agents. Avoid high temp & X-ray. Do not inj intravascularly. Switch to standard surgical methods to control bleeding if failed to arrest the hemorrhage.
