Tenoxicam
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic management of musculoskeletal & joint disorders eg, OA & RA. Short-term management of soft tissue injury.
Dosage/Direction for Use
20 mg once daily for 7 days. Max duration: 14 days.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take w/ or immediately after meals or milk.
Contraindications
Peptic ulceration.
Special Precautions
Active or history of peptic ulceration, infections, asthma or allergic disorders; hemorrhagic disorders, HTN; impaired renal, hepatic or cardiac function. May cause allergic-type reactions due to tartrazine content.
Adverse Reactions
GI discomfort, nausea & diarrhea. Peptic ulceration & severe GI bleeding. Headache, vertigo, dizziness, nervousness, tinnitus, depression, drowsiness & insomnia. Anemia, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, eosinophilia & agranulocytosis. Renal failure especially in patients w/ preexisting renal impairment. Hematuria, fluid retention, nephropathy (long-term use). Photosensitivity, alveolitis, pulmonary eosinophilia, pancreatitis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome & toxic epidermal necrolysis.
